Chen Le takes music as his purpose of life. Starting piano at age of 4, and working with the well-known professor in Nanjing conservatory of music Peng Peng, Chen Le improved tremendously fast. By the age of six, Chen Le had already finished playing Bach’s two parts and three parts inventions. At age of eight, he entered Xiang Shan cup competitions, winning the 3rd prize, and finished first in the Central Cup competition. Already known for his talent in Nanjing, many professors had high expectation on him.
He is now a composer and classical pianist residing in Singapore. In 2011, he held his first solo recital in Singapore,“the Charms of Keyboard—Chen Le Piano Recital”, and a joint concert “Chen Le and Friends– War Sonatas” with the sponsorship from Cristofori school of Arts.
In 2013, he performed in 2 master classes representing Lasalle, with piano performance and improvisation.In February 2014, Chen Le was invited by Mr. Frank and Mr. Justin to play for Lasalle’s 30 years’ Open House. In June,Chen Le performed in the “International music day” at Alliance Francaise presenting two sets of programs with the prestigious singer Miss. Laura Abello from SLO. In September, Chen Le worked with visiting director Andre Pink to compose the music for his play “The Ugly One” presented in the Studio Theater (the black box), NAFA. In October, he created a unique composition “The Spin” for the SOTA dancing department with visiting Australian director Mark Hill.
In Feb 2015, Chen Le presented improvisation, music concrete, chamber and his own compositions during the“Piano Voyage” in the SIA theater, Lasalle College of the Arts with the great support from Ms. Amanda, Mr. Timothy, and Mr. Frank. His own composition “Four Seasons” was a showcase for the visiting MOE(Ministry of Education) officers.
In March, he took center stage to present “Carnival of the Animals” with the kids’ philharmonic@sg orchestra in the concert hall, The Esplanade during”beautiful Sunday”. In April, Chen Le accompanied Balestier Hill Secondary School’s Choir with an improvisation of ” New York, New York” with maestro Christophe Drag for Singapore Youth Festival in SOTA concert hall. In May, Chen Le presented a solo recital presenting Schumann, Scriabin “CUBE” , Lasalle College of the Arts.
Later in this month, Chen Le worked with 14 violinists from kids’ philharmonic@sg Orchestra as an accompanist in Queenstown Auditorium hall to present a successful performance.
Chen Le is also a freelance model since 2011 under ” IMODEL”.
